Imperative to the use of portable computers are laptop bags cases. As everyone knows, not just any bag will do the trick either. If you have a laptop with a lot of accessories, you will want a bag that can accomodate that. If you have a slimmer laptop intended for easier portability then you will need a laptop bag honed for that. Then there are those of us, like myself, who might need laptop bags that have a bit more durability to protect your laptop from your own possible clumsiness. Fortunately, there is an extensive market for laptop bags as the idea behind a laptop is that you can transport it elsewhere. Generally there are only three different styles of laptop bags: the briefcase, the backpack and the messenger bag. All have their own merits and it is up to you to decide what will best fit your needs.
The briefcase is a laptop computer bag made of leather contraption with a single handle. Often there is only one slot for the laptop itself and a few side pockets for the ac adapter etc. This type of laptop bag occassionally also comes with a shoulder strap but not always. Not intended for long trips, this bag has a classy look without necessarily being the most utilitarian. Some bags of this nature provide the option of opening up the side allowing you to use your laptop while on a train, or commuting passively.
The messenger bag is a more utilitarian option. Usually housing the laptop in its own pocket along with more space than the usual briefcase style bag, this type of laptop bag is usually intended for those that travel more frequently with their laptops (as is the backpack). Often times, this style of laptop bag will also have slots for other electronics such as an mp3 player or a headphone slot to plug your headphones into your mp3 player or cd player so you can listen to it with your hands being free. These bags are also intended to be a bit more durable than your average briefcase style bag but they are usually made of something other than leather, giving them a less classy look.
The backpack style of laptop computer bag is a lot like the messenger bag except that instead of a single shoulder strap it is two shoulder straps. Often many of the same features are involved as the messenger bag. The imperative difference here is what is more comfortable for you as you carry the bag.
Additionally, there are transparent laptop bags for women that come in the form of a hard shell that forms directly against the laptop so you can protect your laptop while it is in another bag that may not be intended to be a laptop bag. These transparent laptop bags for women and for men allow for an alternative to having to buy a whole new bag for your laptop. Laptop bags cases are an imperative part of any laptop purchase though and should be kept in mind.
